Scarce WW II enamel lapel badge with brooch pin fitting and indistinct makers mark to the reverse worn by a " Queen's Messenger " . A yellow enamelled flag bearing the letters, " Q M " surmounted by the crown above the title " Ministry of Food " on a blue enamel ground. In 1941 Food Convoys were established to aid badly bombed out areas. These ladies were responsible for the food and water distribution at the given destination.
