An elephant standing on ground with a tower upon its back below the motto scroll to the centre of a circlet bearing the title, " Dumbartonshire Volunteers " within a wreath of thistles. Worn before 1908 as a Rifle Volunteer Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
