Scarce WW I embroidered example of the red configuration of 7 number 5 's on a black backing. Originally formed as a " Bantam " Division this sign was taken into use in 1916. Private Butler of the West Yorkshire Regiment, 2 / Lt. Parsons of the Gloucestershire Regiment and Lt. Col. Anderson of the Highland Light Infantry were all awarded Victoria Crosses whilst serving in the Division before the end of the war.
