Early printed example of the white polar bear on an ice-berg on a black background. Composed of mainly Yorkshire units the 49th. Division spent the early war years in Iceland before joining 21st. Army Group in June 1944 for the Normandy Landings by which time the polar bear had changed to a " Head-up " appearance.
