Brass [ Originally gilt centre ] and enamel WWI lapel badge with buttonhole fitting registration number and makers details for Fattorini Bolton to the reverse. The letter " W " and the title, " Westwood Works Peterborough " to the centre of a blue enamel circlet, " On War Service 1915 ". This engineering company made a variety of war material including 6 inch Howitzers, cordite mixers and ships diesel engines. As two of the directors had German names the company changed their title in 1915 to " Perkins Engineers Ltd."
