Extremely rare sealed pattern card for the very short-lived " Preliminary Flying Navigator's Badge ". The letter " N " in off-white embroidery on a black oval backing still affixed to an Inspectorate of Clothing Master Pattern Card. The card is dated 1948 with Air Ministry wax seal and Authority stamps. In 1948 the R.A.F. introduced preliminary training badges to be worn on the tunic pocket until replaced by the appropriate qualification badge.
